Sand-cast, waxed against rust

Cast iron censer, three feet

$96

Sand-cast iron with three feet and two handles, finished with a coat of microcrystalline wax rather than paint. Iron is heavy, and that is the feature: a cast iron censer does not move when the door slams, and its walls hold heat long after the stick has gone out.

Material
Cast iron, waxed. Not painted.
Care
Keep dry. Wipe with a dry cloth after use; re-wax yearly. Never leave standing water in it.

Ships from Hangzhou in 2–5 business days. Delivery is typically 7–15 business days to the US and 8–16 to the EU, UK, Australia and New Zealand, customs permitting. Import duties and taxes are charged by your country's customs, not by us, and are payable on delivery. The United States ended its $800 duty-free exemption on 29 August 2025, so US orders now attract duty at every value. The EU introduces a flat €3 duty per item on goods below €150 from 1 July 2026. Where it comes from

Cast iron rusts, and the trade's answer has always been to let it. A censer kept dry develops a thin, stable oxide layer that stops at the surface and looks like gunmetal; a censer kept wet develops flaking rust that does not. Wax slows the process but does not stop it — which is why the care instructions matter more for this object than for anything else here.
