Cast zinc alloy, antique gold
Censer with a lotus rim
$54
Cast in a two-part mould, then plated. The lotus rim is the same relief on every piece because it comes out of the mould, not from hand-chasing, so the petals repeat exactly. The plating is thin and matte rather than polished, which stops the piece from reading as bright yellow brass.

Ships from Hangzhou in 2–5 business days. Delivery is typically 7–15 business days to the US and 8–16 to the EU, UK, Australia and New Zealand, customs permitting. Import duties and taxes are charged by your country's customs, not by us, and are payable on delivery. The United States ended its $800 duty-free exemption on 29 August 2025, so US orders now attract duty at every value. The EU introduces a flat €3 duty per item on goods below €150 from 1 July 2026. Where it comes from
The lotus is used on ritual vessels because of how the plant grows: rooted in mud, the flower opens above the water and the leaf repels it. Zinc alloy is die-cast rather than hammered, which is why the same vessel can be made in quantity with an identical rim — the trade-off is that the metal is softer than cast brass and the plating, not the alloy, is what you see.
